Music Monday: Now Playing // On Repeat
I’ve been going back and listening to the same songs, old songs, this whole past week. I’m not sure why because I have tons of new music that are waiting to be enjoyed. Does it have anything to do with my mood? Maybe. Or because they’re just too darn groovy? Definitely maybe.

BIUTIFUL
It’s 1:30am. We got out of the last showing of Biutiful about an hour ago. And I’m so deeply touched by this movie that I have to write about it. Life. Death. And the line that separates the two. Therein that very fine line lives moments of love, innocence and anger, acts of desperation, greed and selfishness.  And within that ugly reality that we called life, there’s a...

Film Friday: Watch THIS, not THAT
2010 is such a great, no, triumphant year for documentaries. And while I’m glad that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science recognize that, I’m utterly disappointed that a few amazing ones were completely overlooked. And they are: Why up the Best Picture nominations to 10 to further recognize the creative efforts and not apply it to other categories while...

Music Monday: Now Playing // Happy Tunes
I can’t believe it’s already Monday! This weekend floated by so quickly. Perhaps because for once I actually stopped exhausting myself with a heavy work schedule and instead paused, enjoyed the sun and indulged in the greatness that is Napa food scene. Here are some beautifully happy tunes to lighten up your mood as it did mine. And I could...

Film Friday: Watch THIS, not THAT
It’s official. I absolutely LOVE Mad Men. A little late jumping on that bandwagon, I know, but it’s never too late to enjoy something truly great, right? And tonight, I finally finished with Season 3, which in my opinion has the best finale of the first 3 seasons. Although, I heard many great things about Season 4 finale, but don’t tell me. In the finale of Season 3, a lot of...

Whatever Wednesday: Gareth Pugh // FW2011
“With a collection inspired by religious iconography and Florentine opulence, Gareth Pugh made his Italian fashion debut at Pitti Immagine #79, showcasing his clothes via a unique fashion film, created with Ruth Hogben” Once again, Gareth Pugh wows us with not only his avant-garde collections, but also his visually stunning approach to how they are presented. Who could...

Music Monday: Best Albums of 2010
OK. So I know I’m a little late on this, but given the fact that my return to scheduled blogging just started last week, I think this tardiness should be deemed excusable. As previously mentioned, I’m a huge music fanatic; therefore, it’s only natural that I bring you the next installment of “Best Of”, the music edition. The criteria is quite simple: How many...

Film Friday: Best Movies of 2010
Anyone who knows me would know that I’m a big film nerd, an avid moviegoer and a huge music fanatic. And yet, strangely, I’ve never officially compiled a “Best Of” list like most. What a better year to start than 2010, a year of many many many truly great films, some of which I still haven’t had the pleasure of viewing. Without further ado, here are my picks (in no...

2011: Resolving
What’s my My New Year’s Resolutions, you ask? More “ME Time”! Whether it be doing more things that I’ve always wanted to do, going places that I’ve always dreamed of, dedicating to people who truly matter (because that makes ME happy) or simply laying in my sofa, flipping the pages of printed reading materials (because the internet could never replace the...
